Arcade Fire Announce New Album 'Pink Elephant' With First Single Year Of The Snake

Arcade Fire have laid out plans for their seventh studio album.
'Pink Elephant', the follow-up to 2022's 'WE', will arrive on May 9 via Columbia. Produced by the band's creative heart, Win Butler and his wife and bandmate Régine Chassagne, with Daniel Lanois, it features 10 songs recorded at the couple's Good News Recording Studio in New Orleans.
Alongside the news, the Grammy-winning Canadian band have shared the record's first single, Year Of The Snake, which finds Butler and Chassagne sharing lead vocal duties. Butler also handles drums for the first time with the band, while Chassagne makes her debut on bass.
Referencing the Lunar Year of the Snake, which represents ideas of renewal, positive transformation and new beginnings, the track comes with a cinematic video directed by the band's long-time collaborator David Wilson.
The news precedes some yet to be announced special shows that will see the group perform the new record in full ahead of its release. Stay tuned.
Arcade Fire will also celebrate the 20th anniversary of their debut album, 'Funeral', with a show at Riverfront Park, North Charleston in late April as part of High Water Festival. Tickets are on sale now.
