King Gizzard And The Lizard Wizard have announced a new album.
Spanning 10 new songs, the fully orchestral 'Phantom Island' will mark the prolific Australian band's 27th record to date, though a release date is still to be confirmed. Pre-orders for the album will go live via the group's own p(doom) Records on April 15. They'll also drop a video for album track Deadstick that same day.
The follow-up to last year's 'Flight b741' was confirmed via a post on the band's social media channels, with frontman Stu McKenzie revealing the LP has been two years in the making. He wrote:
"HERE WE GO AGAIN!!!!!! A lot of love and time and energy and patience and growth went into this one. Can't wait to grow wings and fly with all of you."
As a teaser, check out the record's title track, a jazzy, funk-infused song that the band first shared late last year, when they revealed plans for the new project.
King Gizzard and The Lizard Wizard will play a string of both orchestral and rave shows across the UK and Europe in the autumn, following US dates in the summer, and European gigs in the spring. Tickets are on sale now.
