Dirty Pretty Things May Already Be Doomed Says Barat

Thursday, 08 June 2006 Written by Stereoboard.com
ImageCarl Barat is not getting carried away with the success of new band Dirty Pretty Things.

The ex-Libertines singer acknowledges the sudden implosion of his former band, and is not taking anything for granted, even going on to suggest his new band "could be doomed already".

Barat says, "There's nothing obviously to mythologise about this band."

"In terms of how others perceive us, I can't think of anything that would provide us with journalistic scoops, but I suppose in the Libertines I couldn't think of anything until after the event."

"That's what I learned in The Libertines: you never know when someone's going to light the touch tape on the suicide bomb until its ignited."

"We could be doomed already."

Dirty Pretty Things recently released their debut album 'Waterloo to Anywhere'.
