The Prodigy have instigated (possibly in a twisted way, reports are fuzzy at this point) three Scottish dates as part of their January 'Run With The Wolves' Tour. Fans asked for it and The Prodigy have delivered.
The obvious question to ask is: would it have hurt the lovely fans of Scotland to suggest a Cardiff date in there as well? I’m mean there’s nearly every flavour of Celt on these Isles being represented here (except the Isle of Mann, but they’re all Vikings really), even Plymouth’s a little Celtic, but nothing Welsh. Would a nod have stung? A coughCardiffcough? A what-about-the-dragon-worriers? Where’s the solidarity?
I’m pretty sure the Welsh fans weren’t quiet on this one either. What swung it, the Prodigy? Was it the whisky? Ok, we don’t have a lot but Penderyn’s pretty tasty.
The other question is: Is it too late? There’s a big gap between the Glasgow gig and the next one in Australia, surely, just one night, you could squeeze little old Cardiff in there. You can have Katherine Jenkins, she’s a gift to sweeten the deal, do what you like with her. After you’ve played, we’ll throw in the drunk one too.
With the addition of the new dates, The Prodigy’s tour is looking like this:
17 Dec - Odyssey Arena, Belfast
21 Jan - The Dome, Doncaster
22 Jan - The Spa, Bridlington
23 Jan - Empress Ballroom, Blackpool
25 Jan - Pavilions, Plymouth
26 Jan - Cliffs Pavilion, Southend
27 Jan - BIC, Bournemouth
29 Jan - Caird Hall, Dundee
30 Jan - Corn Exchange, Edinburgh
31 Jan - O2 Academy, Glasgow
1st Feb – cough...Millennium Stadiumcough...
