The Strokes frontman is going solo and on tour. As the son of the Founder of the Elite Model agency and a former Miss Denmark, Julian Casablancas could have spent his time fopping it around New York, eating Smørrebrød. Thankfully, he became the vocalist and chief song-writer of the Strokes instead. Click here for tickets.
He is a little bit foppy though, the title of his new album ‘Phrazes for the Young’ was taken from the title of an Oscar Wilde essay. The album is set to be released on November 2nd in the UK.
Getting in on this strange, high-tech world, Casablancas made his album available to be streamed online before its official release. You can listen to it on the NME website here http://www.nme.com/news/julian-casablancas/48065
Casablancas’ distinctive vocals were heard in the first single of the new album ‘11th Dimension’ in Britain when it was played on Radio 1 by Zane Lowe back in September. Have a listen to his album and let us know what you think. Happy listening!
His tour is:
Dec 11 - Manchester Ritz
Dec 12 - O2 ABC, Glasgow
Dec 16 - HMV Forum, London
