Big things are sure to happen for the bands on the NME tour; previous tours have paved the way into the mainstream for bands such as Ting Tings, Klaxons, Arctic Monkeys, Kaiser Chiefs, Coldplay, The Cribs, Bloc Party and The Killers.
This year’s cream of the rock music crop, are hotly tipped art-rockers The Maccabees, Bombay Bicycle Club’s folky punk-rock, electric rock duo The Big Pink and, finally, The Drums with their updated take on 50’s surf-rock. Rockularly-speaking, there should be something for everyone.
Felix White, Lead singer of The Maccabees, who are headlining, said: "We understand the legacy of this tour....The old NME tours years ago, if I missed one I'd think shit, I'm never going to see that again. So that's a nice thing to be a part of. It looks like a good tour to me... we're as lucky as anyone to be on it. As far as upping our game, we understand the kind of bands who have headlined before. The kind of calibre those groups are, we've got to reach that".
