Alesana have got to where they are on a wave of word of mouth and Internet promotions. They’re a cult screamo band from North Carolina and not, as the name might make you think, a lovely quirky songstress emoting about daffodils and difficult relationships. If you think that, you might be in for a shock and/or a coronary at one of their gigs. Click Here to Compare & Buy Alesana Tickets
Screamo, and Alesana in particular, is a style of music where, at some point in the song, someone starts shrieking like a teenager possessed by a six-year-old demon with evil ADHD who really, really wants a sweetie. Death metal’s angsty younger brother it may be, but lots of people love it.
Alesana are named after a street where two band members, Shawn Milke and Patrick Thompson lived, Alice-Anna Street. The bands lyrics, are noted for often dealing with mythological epics or Brother’s Grimm Fairy Tale, which is nice.
