It has been announced by Cartoon group Gorillaz that their new album, ‘Plastic Beach’, is set to land in March.
Gorillaz became an almost instant success when Damon Albarn and flatmate Jamie Hewlett formed the group, mixing pop music with outstanding visuals. The band scored a series of hit singles. After the release of their second album, the band took time off with Albarn and Hewlett scoring an opera. Now, still working on more stage productions, the Gorillaz pair are also set to release new material.
Cartoon front man Murdoc Nuccles kept fans up to date with the latest developments on the new material via a Twitter message. "Urrp!! Just finished mixing new Gorillaz track with er..'My ARSE'!. Sounds pretty good. Can't wait to play it," the singer said.
Not sparing many details in that message, the singer went on to reveal a bit more information about the new album. Rumoured to contain a typically eclectic mix of music and artists, the singer clamed that the new material is almost finished. "Oh yeah, Gorillaz fans. I'm far, far, far away. On a big piece of plastic floating in the middle of nowhere. Just so you know," he explained. "Album almost finished. Drinks being mastered. Isolation kicking in. Bucket of Propofol to help me sleep. Happy 2010!!"
Continuing to make perfect sense Murdoc Nuttals asked fans: "Anyone know how to work a radio studio? I put the records into the microphone, but can't get them to go down the cable. Won't work."
Gorillaz are due to release 'Plastic Beach' in March.
