A cornerstone to Glasgow’s ever vibrant music scene, King Tuts Wah Wah Hut will be celebrating its 20th anniversary this year with a number of bands being confirmed to play as part of the celebrations. Over the last twenty succesful years the venue has seen many famous artists tread the boards where Alan McGee famously stumbled across an early Oasis outfit, playing bottom of the bill all those years ago.
The Manics have confirmed that they will swap their more familiar surroundings of massive arena venues for the Glasgow ale house for an intimate show on Wednesday February 18th.
The Welsh trio released one of their most accalimed albums for a decade last year with the album ‘Journal For Plague Lovers’ stunning fans who favoured the early darker side of the Manics. The album was written using the lyrics from the notebooks left behind by former eloquent band member Richey Edwards, before his disappearance in 1995.
Other acts set to perform as part of the anniversary party are synth-metal masters Enter Shikari, while troubadour Paulo Nutini is also due to appear.
Tickets for the 300 capacity Manics show are on sale from 9am on Wednesday January 27th.
