From the small town of Owatonna in Minnesota, Owl City is the finished product of a young insomniac and a highly talented individual. Adam Young started the project in his parents basement while he worked at a Coca Cola warehouse and during nights suffering from insomnia. Blending influences from disco and European electronic music, Owl City initially gained a following through Adam’s MySpace profile before being signed up by record label Universal Republic.
Following two independent albums, Owl City broke into the mainstream only recently via the release of the 2009 major label debut album ‘Ocean Eyes’. The album has so far been a success spawning a US and UK number one hit single “Fireflies”.
Owl City will play the following UK dates:
May 2010
8th Barrowlands, Glasgow
9th O2 Shephers Bush Empire, London
