Friendly Fires are currently working on their follow up to their popular self titled debut, and according to frontman Ed Macfarlane, it’s sounding “really good”.
Talking to BBC Radio 6, the singer said the plans were in place to release the record “as soon as possible”. Benefiting from more experience in the studio, Macfarlane joked that they didn’t even use pop shields for their microphones on the first record, commenting “this time around, we’ve done it properly in that sense, so it sounds fantastic”.
The St Albans three piece have promised not to appear on “every line up possible” in this summer’s festival season. Macfarlane added “We’re going to wait until next year, when the album’s out to really do all the festivals we can”.
Friendly Fires are currently booked to play at Rockness, The Isle of Wight and a headline slot at Camp Bestival.
