One of the most influential bands of the 1990’s alternative rock movement, Dinosaur Jr, have announced eight UK dates as part of their forthcoming world tour.
Led by singer J Mascis, the reformed band were an integral part of the grunge scene in the nineties. They’ll be joined on the double headline May tour by special guests, Idaho band, Built To Spill.
One of only a couple of bands who injected life into indie rock music in the late 1980’s, Dinosaur Jr.’s special sound is still a simple mix of melodies, passionate vocals and overpowering guitar noise.
The last album released by the band was the fiercely-loud ‘Farm’ which unleashed a beautiful set of anthems on the world last year. Ranking very high in many critic’s ‘end-of-year' round-ups, the actual CD pressing caused some ironic confusion upon its release. Basically, the first batch of CD’s were mastered incorrectly and ended up being 3 decibels LOUDER than planned! Even Better!!
The tour will start on May 8th in Oxford and will hit Liverpool, Glasgow, Newcastle, Leeds and wrap up in Birmingham on May 16th.
