New Zealand comedy duo, Jemaine Clement and Bret McKenzie, otherwise known as Flight Of The Conchords have announced extra dates to their forthcoming British and Irish tour.
Tickets for their forthcoming tour that includes shows in Birmingham, Manchester, London and Glasgow were all snapped up within minutes of being released on sale last Friday. When tickets were released for those initial dates, many fans complained on the internet that tickets were being bought and then resold on Ebay for hundreds of pounds.
Now, due to the high demand, the comedy duo have added two extra dates at Manchester’s Apollo on May 8th and London’s Wembley Arena on May 25th.
The band climbed to prominence through Clement and McKenzie’s writing of a BBC radio sit-com loosely based on their musical travails. This eventually went on to become a full-blown TV series, following the band’s quest for fame in New York City, shown on HBO in America and the BBC in the UK.
Support on the shows is from Kristen Schaal and Arj Barker, better known to Conchord fans as groupie Mel and friend Dave. Kristen provides the support on the Dublin, Manchester and Birmingham legs, whilst Arj opens in London.
Flight Of The Conchords will play the additional UK dates:
May 2010
8th Manchester Apollo
25th Wembley Arena, London
Tickets for the extra shows are available from 9am on Friday 12th March.
