Comedian Russell Howard, star of comedy quiz show Mock The Week and his own TV show Russell Howard’s Good News, will be appearing at 11 huge venues next February and March.
The jaunt, entitled the 'Right Here, Right Now tour’, is promised to be the comedian’s biggest and best to date. Having already made two appearances on Live At The Apollo, it will see Russell Howard return to massive venues such as Glasgow’s 10,000-seater SECC, Birmingham’s 13,000-capacity LG Arena and a return to London’s O2 Arena.
Planning almost a year in advance, The Right Here Right Now gigs will follow on from his ten-date, sold-out ‘Big Rooms & Belly Laughs tour’ earlier this year.
Before the new tour, Howard will be running in next month’s London Marathon in aid of the National Society for Epilepsy. He will be taking on the 26-mile challenge with his sister Kerry, who plays secretary Vicky in BBC One’s Perrin, and brother Daniel, who suffers from epilepsy.
Having a busy last few months, Russell recently took part in the the Sport Relief bike ride across the UK but has apparently done little training towards the marathon. Kerry said: “Russell hates training. I think on the day we will be laughing, arguing and crying mainly crying. I will be filming the second series of Perrin and Russ is filming a second series of his Good News show, so we will be very busy during training.”
In the wake of his massive sell-out tour earlier this year and two best-selling live DVD’s, Russell will be once again bringing his unique brand of mirth to arenas across the country in early 2011. Russell, you, lots of jokes and a good time had by all. Done.
Russell Howard will play the following UK dates:
February 2011
1st Cardiff International Arena
4th Manchester Evening News Arena
9th Nottingham Trent FM Arena
11th LG Arena, Birmingham
16th Liverpool Echo Arena
17th Sheffield Arena
19th The O2 Arena, London
24th Newcastle Metro Radio Arena
