Crystal Castles Push Forward Album Release Date After Online Leak

Crystal Castles have taken the decision to push forward the release date of their new self-titled second album, after it was leaked in it's entirety online.

A statement by the band's spokesperson read: "Due to phenomenal demand and anticipation around the news of the forthcoming second Crystal Castles album the digital release will be available immediately, from Friday April 23rd."

With huge support from Radio 1’s Zane Lowe, reintroducing Crystal Castles as "one of the most provocative, influential and creative bands of the last 10 years", and debuting both the limited edition Record Store Day 12" release of "Doe Deer" and first single "Celestica" last week in his Hottest Record in the World slot, a few new tracks have since surfaced online placing the band at the top of the Hype Machine chart and straight to the top of Elbo.ws ‘Hot Artists’ and ‘Hot Posts’.

In reaction to this huge response, and to the album leak, fans will now be able to buy the entire album digitally in all its glory ahead of the physical release date, which has also been brought forward to May 24th.

The antisocial duo of Ethan Kath and Alice Glass have created an unexpected level of excitement and cult loyalty, clocking up a staggering 50 million plays on MySpace and Last.fm and headlining sold out tours around the world.

Produced by Ethan Kath, tracks were recorded and written in contrasting environments around the world, including a church in Iceland, a self-built cabin in Ontario, and a garage behind an abandoned convenience store in Detroit.

The physical album release date also comes forward by 2 weeks to May 24th.

The postponed London Heaven gig, is now confirmed for the new date of May 19th. Tickets for the original date are valid.
