Paul Simon is an American singer-songwriter from Newark, New Jersey.
Starting his music career in 1957, he released several singles under various guises, and a solo album, ‘The Paul Simon Songbook’ in 1965. After forming Simon and Garfunkel, the duo signed to Columbia Records and released their debut album, ‘Wednesday Morning, 3 A.M’ in 1964. They went on to release ‘Sounds of Silence’, ‘Parsley, Sage, Rosemary and Thyme’, ‘Bookends’ and 'Bridge over Troubled Water’, before splitting later in 1970. Simon then reignited his solo career, releasing a self-titled album, ‘Paul Simon’, in 1972. He followed that with ‘There Goes Rhymin' Simon’ in 1973 and ‘Still Crazy After All These Years ’in 1975. In 1980, he released the soundtrack to his film, ‘One-Trick Pony’, followed by 'Hearts and Bones' three years later, and his most critically acclaimed album, 'Graceland', in 1986. He has released 15 solo studio albums in total, the latest being 'Seven Psalms', his first since 2018, which surprised fans upon its release in 2023, as Simon had previously stated that his prior album, 'In The Blue Light', would be his last.
