Therion is a Swedish metal band hailing from Upplands Väsby. Formed in 1987, the band currently consists of Christofer Johnsson - the founding and only consistent member - alongside Thomas Vikström, Johan Koleberg, Nalle "Grizzly" Påhlsson, Christian Vidal, and Lori Lewis.

Originally started as a death metal band, Therion soon grew into a much more defined, symphony-based sound, inspired by and often featuring elements of classical music - Johnsson often even arranges live orchestras to join them on stage.

In February 2018, they put out 'Beloved Antichrist', one of their most elaborate projects yet - a triple album that they describe as a rock opera, featuring a large orchestra as well as a choir.

There are to be theatrical performances of Therion's new project at some point, and in September 2018, they will head to Australia for the first time to act out some scenes from 'Beloved Antichrist', as well as a career-spanning set of music.
