Tenessee rockers Kings Of Leon have been announced as the first headline act for 2011's Isle of Wight Festival.
Having just released their fifth studio album 'Come Around Sundown', as well as confirming a string of UK December and summer 2011 shows, Kings of Leon have revealed they will headline next year's Isle of Wight Festival at Seaclose Park, Newport, June 10th – 12th.
The Followill's will join the first act confirmed for the festival, The British Pink Floyd Show, who were signed for the weekend bash a few weeks ago. It has been reported that the Isle of Wight show will be Kings of Leon's only 2011 festival appearance with fellow US rockers Foo Fighters and Red Hot Chili Peppers rumoured to be big names on next year's UK festival scene.
Isle of Wight Festival will be celebrating it's tenth year in 2011 and event organisers are releasing band names for the bill each day this week. Speaking about the Kings Of Leon booking, festival promoter John Giddings said: "We are proud to bring one of the world's biggest rock bands to the island on our tenth anniversary. It is an incredible way to start the weekend, I can't wait!"
