Guitar Legend Gary Moore Has Died - Aged 58

Northern Irish guitar legend Gary Moore passed away today aged 58. The guitarist, who enjoyed spells with Thin Lizzy, notably on the album ‘Black Rose’ and a glittering solo career, will be sorely missed by all in the musical community and was highly regarded as one of the best blues guitarists in the world.

His spells with Phil Lynott were as productive as they were destructive. From early work on albums like Nightlife through to Black Rose and collaborations such as ‘Parisienne Walkways’ and ‘Out in the Fields’ to mid-tour bust ups and fall outs. Work in bands such as Skid Row and Colosseum II before and during spells in Thin Lizzy established Moore as one of the most talented guitarists of his generation.

During a hugely successful solo career Moore released 20 studio albums including ‘Still Got the Blues’ in 1991 and ‘Back to the Blues’ in 2001 while live performances were captured on DVDs such as Live at Montreaux.

RIP Gary Moore.
