Roger Daltrey Forced To Cancel Three 'Tommy' Shows & Announces New Show In Sheffield & Tickets

Roger Daltrey, rock legend and frontman for iconic British band The Who, has been forced to cancel three upcoming solo shows.

Roger Daltrey was set to perform The Who's legendary rock opera 'Tommy' from start to finish at selected shows throughout the UK this summer. Daltrey recently premiered 'Tommy' from start to finish at The Royal Albert Hall in aid of Teenage Cancer Trust on March 25th. Roger is now taking it on the road, beyond the majesty of 'Tommy', each night music fans will also be treated to a variety of Who Classics and more.

However, event organisers IML Concerts revealed yesterday that some shows will not be going ahead, cancelling Daltrey's concerts at Alcester's Ragley Hall, Harrogate's Ripley Castle and Exeter's Powderham Castle on Sunday July 3rd, July 17th and July 24th.

Rajina Gurung, Spokesman for IML Concerts, said: "IML Concerts regrets to announce that it has taken the decision to cancel the concert. It apologises for any inconvenience caused and will be offering a refund to every ticket-holders."

Simon Fishwick, General Manager at Powderham Castle in Exeter, commented on the news saying it was "tremendously disappointing". He added: "It's all to do with poor ticket sales, I'm afraid. It was an exciting event, but it just does not seem to have got anyone going. I'm disappointed for all those who purchased tickets and also personally as I had really been looking forward to it and had rearranged my holiday.”

Those with tickets for Roger Daltrey's cancelled shows should contact their point of purchase and find out how to receive a refund. If you bought your tickets via IML Concerts' box office, you will soon be receiving a letter with instructions on how to receive a refund.
