Adele has praised ‘Bon Iver’ as her favourite album of the year, despite there being six months left for other albums to be released. The ‘Someone Like You’ singer sang the praises of Justin Vernon and his band’s self-titled second LP, calling the album “so, so special”.
Writing on her official blog, Adele expressed her appreciation for his debut album ‘For Emma, Forever Ago’, saying: “I’ve been waiting for the new Bon Iver record since the moment I first heard ‘For Emma, Forever Ago’. My heart was shaken and stunned from the minute I heard his voice on ‘re:stacks’. By far the most moving record I had ever heard”
She continued, commenting on his new release: “And the new album threw me back there all over again on Monday when it came out. I’m pretty convinced It’s my record of the year already. You know when someone’s life flashes before their eyes in a film, and every memory flashes before their eyes. It happens when you listen to him sing, but you survive it!”
She finished by urging her fans to listen to the album, saying: “Please listen if you haven’t already. So so special! The soundtrack to my heart – Bon Iver xx”
Meanwhile, Bon Iver recently unveiled a video performing a cover of Bonnie Raitt’s ‘I Can’t Make You Love Me’ / ‘Nick Of Time’’. The cover has previously been performed on a number of US appearances, but you can listen to Justin Vernon’s rendition of the track below:
