The Foo Fighters went all out to put on a huge performance at the weekend’s gigs in Milton Keynes – and invited a range of huge rockstars on stage to help them.
Playing at the Milton Keynes Bowl, Dave Grohl and the band were joined on stage by Alice Cooper, Seasick Steve, Led Zeppelin bassist John Paul Jones, Queen Drummer Roger Taylor, and Bob Mould, who all joined in for different songs during the two blockbuster nights. Videos of the collaborations are embedded below.
Roger Taylor took over the drums for ‘Cold Day in the Sun’, which allowed regular drummer Taylor Hawkins to take lead vocal duty.
Then later on, Bob Mould entered the stage, introduced by Grohl as his ‘true hero, to play track ‘Dear Rosemary’.
"The good thing about this record is that I got to make a song with a person that I can truly call my hero, the person who is responsible for the Foo Fighters.”
Grohl went on to make another tribute as the legendary Alice Cooper to perform covers of ‘School’s Out’ and ‘I’m Eighteen’.
"If it wasn't for this next person, Pat Smear would never have bought a guitar in his life, say hello to one of our heroes - Mr Alice fucking Cooper!"
Not to leave the attendees of the Sunday gig neglected, Grohl invited legendary guitarist Seasick Steve and John Paul Jones on stage for an epic jamming session, which left the crowd mesmerised.
Supported by Biffy Clyro, Death Cab for Cutie and Tame Impala, the two weekend shows at the Bowl were some of the biggest in rock history.
