The B-side to Jack White’s hilarious/extremely-strange/slightly-confusing collaboration with Insane Clown Posse has surfaced today, after ‘Leck Mich Im Arse’ was posted on Soundcloud earlier this month.
The White Stripes vocalist and guitarist, who is very fond of a good collaboration, decided to work with the most unlikely of musicians for a new 7” – the make-up’d duo of Insane Clown Posse. What they created was a rock rap cover of Mozart’s ‘Leck Mich Im Arse’ (Lick Me in the Arse), which was showcased at the start of this month, and a comically OTT country/western track with the unique sounds of ICP slapped over it. While ‘Mountain Girl’ is understandably less weird than its flipside, it still proves to be a frankly down-right strange track – which you can listen to below.
Violent J, one half of the (very) Insane Clown Posse, spoke to Billboard about how such an odd mixture of musicians came together.
“The most respected musician in the world and one of the most hated musicians in the world. We didn't expect that call, brother. I told him, 'I gotta know - why us?'
“He said, 'I find myself going to your web site and looking at it. Some stuff I think is genius, some stuff I don't understand at all, but I always find myself going back there and seeing what you're up to.”
