Alternative rock icons Coldplay have paid tribute to the legendary R.E.M following their split by playing a cover version of their track ‘Everybody Hurts’.
R.E.M sensationally split up earlier this week after a career spanning 31 years, leaving fans devastated at the loss of their favourite group. Coldplay were obviously big fans of the band too, and decided to pay tribute to Michael Stipe and co. while performing in Atlanta, Georgia yesterday.
“One of our favourite bands of all time, R.E.M., for some crazy reason have finished and it's sad,” said frontman Chris Martin. “So with the most respect in the world, this is just to show how much they meant to us.”
