Superstar soul singer Adele has confessed she has a ‘soft spot’ for the BRIT Awards ahead of the ceremony tomorrow night (21st), where she’ll be making her UK live comeback following her bout of vocal cord surgery.
BRIT Award nominee Adele, who is up for British Female Solo Artist, British Single (for ‘Someone Like You’) and Mastercard British Album of the Year (for ‘21’), exploded into the limelight following last year’s ceremony, after she performed her international hit ‘Someone Like You’. Now, she’s told of her ‘soft spot’ for the awards show which helped shape and define the singer into what you see today.
“I have a soft spot for The BRITs, but this year feels really special since last year it kick-started my album into what it's become,” Adele admitted. “What a beautiful way to celebrate!”
‘Someone Like You’ was catapulted to #1 on the British Singles Chart making it her first #1 in the UK as well as in Ireland, New Zealand, Australia, Italy, France, and Switzerland. It also hit #1 in the US, making it her second chart-topper in the country.
Since then, her album ‘21’ has gone on to sell ridiculous amounts of copies, topping charts in more than 26 countries including the United Kingdom - in which it has become the longest running number one album by a female solo artist.
Adele makes her first performance in the UK since suffering from a benign polyp, which caused her to under-go a bout of vocal cord surgery and cancel an entire US tour as well as a handful of UK dates.
