Noel Gallagher Blames Brother Liam For Oasis' Lack Of US Success

Despite Liam being voted the greatest frontman of all time by listeners of XFM, Noel Gallagher has claimed that the reason that Manchester rockers Oasis didn’t crack American is because they didn’t have a frontman ‘like Bono or Chris Martin’.
Speaking to CNN, Noel claimed that his old band ‘got off on the wrong foot with America’ – and also weren’t given enough credit for how successful they actually became in the states. But, if he was going to blame anyone for their failure to make a big as impact across the pond as they did over here, it was going to be Liam – and he did so in an interview with the news company.
“I think unfortunately for us, we got off on the wrong foot with America,” Noel told CNN. “Four tours in a row were either never started or never finished. We didn't have a frontman like Bono or Chris Martin. We had a different kind of frontman who was like Johnny Rotten. But I don't think anybody in Oasis would look back it with any regret.”
He went on to talk about the moves the band did make in the states – and his confusion at how his new bands material hasn’t exploded there.
“Not that I've got to justify it, but we did sell out the Hollywood Bowl and Madison Square Garden regularly. And I've got gold discs and platinum discs to prove it, Sonny Jim. You don't get that from selling records in Dagenham, let me tell you.
“Those Americans are still proving to be stubborn fools though. Don't know what's going on over there. Have they got no taste? How can Green Day be billionaires and I'm not over there? It's nonsense, isn't it?”
