Brian McFadden has today announced he will release his first UK album in almost eight years, titled the 'The Irish Connection', to be released through BMF Records/EMI on March 11th. 'The Irish Connection' features Brian’s interpretations of some of the very best in Irish songwriting and showcases the strength and versatility of Brian’s voice.
Each track was personally chosen by Brian and range from artists such as Snow Patrol, The Cranberries and Damien Rice to Enya and Van Morrison. Ronan Keating and Brian team up to duet on U2’s epic 'All I Want Is You' – the album's focus track. Brian will also be joining Ronan on his ‘Fires’ tour, which begins on January 16th in Bristol and includes a landmark date at London’s O2 Arena.
The album features phenomenal Irish talent Sinead O’Connor as she joins Brian for the Irish classic ‘Black Is The Colour’ to create their own hauntingly beautiful version. Classic rocker Christy Dignam completes the line-up on Aslan’s own ‘Crazy World’. Produced by both Brian and his long time co-producer Robert Conley, the album was recorded in Dublin and Sydney.
Brian says: "This album is something I have wanted to do for a long time. Ireland has produced some of the greatest songs in history and I decided I would put my own twist on a collection of my favourite ever Irish songs."
