Queens Of The Stone Age & Justin Timberlake Among Names Confirmed For 2013 London iTunes Festival

Thursday, 30 May 2013 Written by Elliott Batte

Apple and the organisers of the annual iTunes Festival have announced their first wave of acts today - and it’s been revealed that fans will be treated to the likes of American superstar Justin Timberlake and rock icons Queens of the Stone Age amongst others.

The month-long affair sees a number of names snapped up to perform on the stage of the Roundhouse in Camden, London throughout September, and this year, it looks like the guys behind the festival are making sure 2013’s edition will be one of the best yet.

As well as Timberlake and Queens of the Stone Age, pop singer Jessie J, LA alt-rockers 30 Seconds to Mars, indie-folk star Jake Bugg, Hawaiian singer-songwriter Jack Johnson, 80s Scottish outfit Primal Scream, and French rockers Phoenix have all been confirmed to play the festival.

Jessie J - who’s expected to release her second studio album in the not-too-distant future - is majorly excited for her set, and told Capital FM:

“I'm excited to see you all at this year's iTunes Festival. I'll be back with new music, a new look and a party you're all invited to!”

Eddy Cue - one of the men behind Apple’s iTunes Festival - has also commented, and said in a statement:

“This year's iTunes Festival is the best ever with an incredible lineup of global superstars and stellar emerging artists. Music fans around the world are going to love watching this incredible month of music, whether in London at the Roundhouse or on their iOS device. We're honoured so many renowned artists are part of this year's lineup.”

There’s a whole load more acts still be announced for the autumn affair, with 60 names in total expected to perform. Tickets will, as usual, be given away via free ballots and competitions to iTunes users, while performances can be streamed for free, and will be available to view even after the festival’s finished for a limited time.
