Motown Legends The Four Tops And The Temptations Announce Co-Headline 2014 UK Tour

Legendary Motown groups, the Four Tops and The Temptations will head out on a co-headline UK tour in spring 2014.
With soul, R&B and disco enjoying a dazzling comeback, this new tour promises to bring together generations of music lovers for some hip-shaking sing-a-longs to timeless sounds of classics such as Reach Out (I’ll Be There) and It’s All In The Game from The Four Tops and My Girl and Papa Was a Rollin’ Stone from The Temptations.
The Four Tops managed to stick out from the rest of the Motown roster, being the only group choosing a baritone over a tenor. Originally from Detroit, Michigan, they moved to LA in the early '70s and continued playing with no change in their lineup until 1997, when Lawrence Payton passed away. The current line up includes original founder member Abdul “Duke” Fakir.
Also from Detroit were The Temptations, one of Motown’s most influential recording artists; across five decades, they’ve sold tens of millions of albums, spacing from R&B to funk, disco and soul. Founder and original member Otis Williams is still in the band, carrying its important legacy.
Otis and Duke say “We love playing in the UK, the audiences are the best in the world. We’re really looking forward to sharing our music with you, together with The Platters and Freda Payne who are joining us this time around. We hope you’ll enjoy the shows as much as we will.”
Special guests joining the bill will be The Platters and Freda Payne.
