Rachel Chinouriri has released another single from her upcoming debut album.

Allowing her to flex her creativity, It Is What It Is sees the rising indie-pop star expressing her inner thoughts about a lover, drawing influence from the likes of Lily Allen and Kate Nash. It marks the final preview of 'What A Devastating Turn Of Events', ahead of its release on May 3 via Parlophone/Atlas Artists. Commenting on the track, she said:

"Well, I was definitely in a petty mood. It’s interesting because humans are full of flaws and I have the privilege of going through therapy, which has massively helped me with my self development journey however there are those moments where you want to be so petty because someone’s done you wrong.

"I've learnt I’m responsible for how I allow men to treat me because they feel I’m worthless enough to be treated that way and it’s a big F U to them as I’ve not discovered how much I deserve. I just feel annoyed I never got to say what I wanted and that’s fine… I have this song instead and it is what it is :)"

The singer-songwriter previously teased the record with its title trackNever Need Me, The Hills, All I Ever Asked, and So My Darling (Acoustic).

Chinouriri will play a run of out-store dates around the release of 'What A Devastating Turn Of Events', with shows lined up in Glasgow, Newcastle, Manchester, Nottingham, Birmingham, Bristol, London, Southampton and Kingston. Head here for details.

She'll also appear at Glasgow's TRNSMT in July, Reading and Leeds in August and All Things Go in Columbia, Maryland in September.
