Frank Turner has announced a UK tour for the summer.
The folk-punk singer-songwriter will be accompanied by his backing band The Sleeping Souls for shows in Manchester, Leeds, Glasgow, Southampton, Birmingham, Nottingham, Cardiff, Oxford and Norwich between July 14 and 24.
Turner will hit the road in support of his 10th album, 'Undefeated', due out on May 3 via Xtra Mile Recordings. Support will come from The Meffs and tickets go on general sale at 10am on Friday (April 26). He said:
"We're getting closer to the day when 'Undefeated' is out in the world. We’ve announced and sold out 14 shows in the UK - all on the same day - so let’s add a few more! I’m bringing the tour, the new album, the Sleeping Souls, and my excellent friends The Meffs, to a string of dates in rooms I know well and love around the UK this July, in between our festival shows."
Turner previously teased the LP with the singles; Letters, Girl From The Record Shop, No Thank You For The Music and Do One.
The announcement follows details of Turner's world record attempt to play the most gigs in different cities within 24 hours. He'll hit the road on May 4 to perform a staggering 15 shows across England, with his schedule set to visit Liverpool, Huddersfield, Leeds, Sheffield, Chesterfield, Nottingham, Birmingham, Leamington Spa, Leighton Buzzard, London, Kingston, Aldershot, Portsmouth, Winchester and Southampton. He's also set to tour North America this spring and summer, before European dates in the autumn, following appearances at the UK's Glastonbury Festival in June, 2000trees festival and Latitude in July and Y Not Festival in Derbyshire in August. Tickets are on sale now.
