The Farm are back with details of their first album in three decades.
The Liverpool band, known for their early '90s hits Groovy Train and All Together Now, will release 'Let The Music (Take Control)' on May 2 via Modern Sky.
Written and recorded in Liverpool with producer Mike Cave by the group's '90s line-up; Peter Hooton (singer), Steve Grimes (guitarist/keyboard player), Keith Mullin (guitar), Carl Hunter (bass), Ben Leach (keyboards) and Roy Boulter (drums), the record is previewed by the bright, upbeat first single, Forever And Ever, which sees them embracing their indie-dance crossover sound. Hooton said:
"When I first heard the new music in rehearsals, I knew I had to match the infectious nature of the music, so went for lyrics that aim straight between the eyes. I went for the timeless theme of everlasting love. It’s about love, obsession and infatuation."
Grimes added: "We were listening to some cool dance tracks and liked the feel of them at 126bpm. We started using a couple of Apple Loops beats in that style, added a keys melody and chords from a previous track we’d worked on. Keith played the guitar chords in the Nile Rodgers style."
The band's new album follows 1994's 'Hullabaloo', 1992's 'Love See No Colour', and their 1991 debut, 'Spartacus', as well as compilations and live releases.
