Airrace are a melodic and hard rock band from Cambridge, and one of the UK's pioneering AOR (Album-Orientated Rock) acts. Originally formed in 1982, the band was the brainchild of More guitarist Laurie Mansworth, and served as the musical debut for drummer Jason Bonham.
Following the acclaimed 1984 release of their debut album, ’Shaft Of Light’, the band had supported rock titans such as Queen, AC/DC and Meat Loaf in their time, but they crash-landed by the summer of 1985. It took a 25th anniversary reissue of the record to reunite the group (with a slightly amended line-up), and they eventually issued a second album, ‘Back To The Start’, via Frontiers in 2011. The current line up consists of Adam Payne, Laurie Mansworth, Rocky Newton, Linda Kelsey Foster and Dhani Mansworth, and in 2018 this group released a new album, 'Untold Stories', in August 2018, which they toured around the UK.
