Blackalicious is an American hip-hop outfit hailing from Sacremento, California. Formed in 1992, the duo consists of rapper/vocalist Gift of Gab, and producer/DJ Chief Xcel.
A combination of classic West coast hip-hop beats and incredibly mind-spinning, tongue-twisting lyrics, Blackalicious would release their first feature-length LP, 'Nia', in 1999, following a series of singles and EPs earlier in the '90s. Since then, they've put out three more records, returning with 'Imani Vol. 1' - their first album in 10 years - in September 2015, and supporting it with UK dates in the autumn. If you missed out, never fear! The duo are back in the UK in June with headline shows in London and Manchester, the former as part of the city's Innervisions Festival.
