Colosseum are a British progressive jazz-rock outfit hailing from London. First formed in 1968, the band currently consists of Chris Farlowe on vocals, Dave ‘Clem’ Clempson on guitar, Mark Clarke on bass, Dave Greenslade on organ, Barbara Thompson on saxophone, and Jon Hiseman on drums.
Originally running for just four years, the band would find a lot of success despite their brief stint, releasing four studio albums and performing massive gigs across the country, earning themselves the title of pioneers in their genre. Following the band’s split, members would join bands like Tempest, before eventually reuniting years later in 1994. Since then, they’ve continued to tour and put out two more LPs, with a third - 'Anno Domini' - set for later in 2014.
