They made beautiful music together at Madison Square Gardens. It was a collaboration so astoundingly gravy that they got nominated for not one, not three, but two Grammys, which is pretty bloody good. Now, rocking sexagenarians Steve Winwood and Eric Clapton have announced they’re giving their relationship another go with a jaunt around Europe.

Pop royalty Westlife have added extra dates in Birmingham, Glasgow and Newcastle to their ‘Where We Are’ UK tour.
Revered for their spectacular live shows, created with visionary William Baker (Kylie, Leona, Bjork) Westlife are thrilled to be returning to the stage two years since their last concert tour. The band will travel to arenas across the UK throughout May, including stops at London’s O2 and the Manchester Evening News Arena. Snow Patrol would be a great title for an action/adventure show starring David Hasslehoff or Chuck Norris or, dare I say it, both. When she was only 16-ish, singer and occasional model Rihanna popped over to the US to see if she could get into the singing game. As reported yesterday on Stereoboard.com, American geek rockers Weezer were involved in a serious bus crash on Sunday December 6th. Due to the severity of the crash and the hospitalisation of lead singer Rivers Cuomo the band have now been forced to cancel their North American tour.

It was today, December 8th, five years ago that one of the greatest ever metal guitarists, former Pantera axe man, “Dimebag” Darrell Abbott was killed by a deranged fan while onstage gigging in Ohio with Damageplan. He was 38. “He was next in line after Eddie Van Halen,” says Scott Ian, Anthrax guitarist. Korn frontman, Jonathan Davies, claims “He was one of the last three great traditional metal guitarists.” To quote here just two tributes from fellow artists, sums up the legend that Dimebag leaves behind.
