Hounded rock star Pete Doherty has come out fighting after being arrested over distasteful photos published in The Sun newspaper on Friday morning.
The graphic photos allegedly showed Doherty injecting heroine into an unconsious woman. Doherty now claims the photos were staged, and stolen from his London flat.
He wrote this on his website, before his arrest yesterday, “Just a note to note the unjust Sun's disturbing and ridiculously offensive 'story'. Firstly the photo's are stolen from my flat so... upsetting and personally catastrophic... how rude, secondly its a staged shot and what a fucking liberty to suggest I'd bang up a sleeping lass. Darkness.”
Doherty has since been released on police bail following the arrest, which took place yesterday morning at 8am on a East London street.
A police spokesperson said the Babyshambles frontman will have to return for questioning in July, pending further inquiries.
