Italian rock band Lacuna Coil have announced a string of dates for their forthcoming UK tour which is set to roll out through English and Scottish venues this September.
Forming in Milan in 1994, Lacuna Coil, formerly known as Sleep of Right and Ethereal were inspired by the mix of gothic imagery and music. Creating a melodic, detached sound, the band’s songs usually consist of prominent guitar lines and contrasting female and male vocal harmonies.
Much of the band’s more recent material however sees Lacuna Coil move away from their recognised sound as they create a heavier and more down-tuned style. Featuring more distinct bass lines, a new alternative hard rock sound is evident in the band’s latest offering, fifth studio album ‘Shallow Life’, an album that was crafted with help from Linkin Park producer Don Gilmore.
Announcing an extensive UK tour for September and October this year, Lacuna Coil will play an eight-date tour of England and Scotland kicking off at Oxford Academy on September 26th. Rolling through venues in Liverpool, Glasgow, Stoke, Leeds, Nottingham and London, the tour will conclude with a show at The Waterfront in Norwich on October 11th.
Lacuna Coil will play the following UK dates:
September 2010
26th O2 Academy2, Oxford
27th O2 Academy2, Liverpool
30th King Tuts Wah Wah Hut, Glasgow
October 2010
