Following the cancellation of their North American earlier this year, U2 have now confirmed, through a message on their official website, that they will be rescheduling all of their postponed North American shows for next year.
The tour, which fell apart after Bono required emergency surgery following a back injury, will kick-off again next May on the 21st and will run through to July 23rd where the Irish rockers will wrap up the tour in Minneapolis. Anyone who has bought tickets for the previously scheduled dates will be pleased to know that their ticket will still be valid for the new 2011 dates.
U2’s Manager Paul McGuinness released a statement regarding the announcement of the rescheduled dates.
"We're delighted the dates are rescheduled and in all the same venues we originally planned to play. It hasn't been easy to accomplish this, and I'd like to thank the managers of the many venues and sports teams across North America and Live Nation Global Touring for their help and cooperation in making this complex new plan possible. Above all we want to thank the U2 fans for bearing with us. They're the best and the band wants to get back to where they belong, surrounded by their audience."
U2’s European tour will proceed as planned, kicking-off on August 6th in Turin, Italy.
