There were a whopping 56,752,487 searches for the top 200 most popular artists' tour dates over the past 12 months via Stereoboard, down from the post Covid-19 lockdown surge that led to an astonishing 62,138,717 in 2023, but significantly higher than 2022's total of 39,128,765.
Taylor Swift continued to dominate headlines with The Eras Tour, but the Oasis and Linkin Park reunions, as well as Chappell Roan's meteoric rise, also took up a sizeable amout of real estate. Check out our Top 50 tours of 2024 below.
We've said it before, but it bears repeating that now more than ever grassroots venues need your support. They nurture future stars who go on to play the stadium and arena shows you attend, and some of your favourite acts wouldn't be where they are without the early support of these undervalued places.
They said it would never happen. Some think it still won't. But, against the odds, in August brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher confirmed that Oasis would be reuniting for UK and Ireland stadium shows in 2025.
Their Live '25 reunion tour will also head to North and South America, Australia, Japan and South Korea next year.
Oasis formed back in 1991 and released their debut album, 'Definitely Maybe', in 1994. They put out six more studio albums before parting ways in 2009, with their final record being 2008's 'Dig Out Your Soul'. Since then, the siblings have forged successful solo careers.
After releasing Taylor's Versions of 'Speak Now' and '1989' in 2023, Swift also announced The Eras Tour. So, how could she top that in 2024?
Well, in true Taylor style, she did. The Grammy-winning singer-songwriter announced her new album, 'The Tortured Poets Department' and then surprised everyone by releasing it as a double record with 15 more tracks than expected.
In 2024, The Eras Tour continued to travel across the world, visiting Japan, Australia, Europe and the UK, before returning to the US for a second North American leg. By the time it concluded in early December, reports had begun to circulate that it is the highest grossing tour of all time, and the first to surpass $2 billion. But even that wasn't enough, with Swift releasing The Eras Tour Book the day before the tour's final date at BC Place Stadium in Vancouver, Canada on December 8. With each release and tour Swift renders herself peerless, so we can't wait to see what comes next. After she takes a well deserved breather, that is.
Last year Coldplay were at number five on this chart with 1,886,093 searches, down from their previous number one spot in 2022 with 4,396,102. The fact they've retained a top five position over the past three years truly shows the ongoing demand for the Music of the Spheres World Tour.
The trailblazing trek saw the band make multiple sustainability commitments to cut direct emissions by 50% compared to their previous run.
In 2024 they took the tour across Europe again, as well as to the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Australia and New Zealand. They've already got their 2025 schedule sorted, and have shows lined up in Abu Dhabi, India, Hong Kong, South Korea, North America and England, where they'll play an impressive 10 nights at Wembley Stadium. They somehow also found time to release their new album, 'Moon Music'. Viva La Coldplay (again)!
It's been a busy year for Dua Lipa. The Grammy Award-winning pop star released her third album, 'Radical Optimism', in May and supported it with a tour of the same name that included shows in Europe and Asia.
The tour also featured a very special London show at the Royal Albert Hall in October, where she was backed by a 53-piece orchestra conducted by Ben Foster, a 14-strong choir, and a seven-piece band. The concert was recorded and became her first live album, arriving earlier in December. It also aired on ITV as An Evening With Dua Lipa concert special.
This summer, the vocalist also found time to headline a little festival called Glastonbury and announced that the Radical Optimism Tour would be heading to Australia, New Zealand, Europe, the UK, Ireland and North America in 2025. So it's no wonder that more than one and a half million of you were searching for her shows. Training season is over, prepare for Dua Lipa to dominate 2025.
Last year saw her at number 46 on the chart, but Lana Del Rey has always been one to go at her own pace, and it's clearly working for her as this year the award-winning American artist is in the top 10.
She spent the year performing in support of her latest album, 2023's 'Did You Know That There's A Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd', headlining festivals across the world. She topped the bill at Reading and Leeds, Coachella and Primavera, to name a few.
But searches really began to ramp up when the singer-songwriter announced a UK and Ireland stadium tour for summer 2025, including a second date at Wembley Stadium due to demand. With the tour following the release of her new album, 'The Right Person Will Stay', on May 21, the shows will very likely feature a fresh setlist featuring material previously unheard live. Sweet.
Oasis took the title of unexpected comeback of the year, but Linkin Park gave everyone a big surprise when they returned in September with the announcement of new singer Emily Armstrong, live drummer Colin Brittain, a new album and imminent, but limited, world tour dates.
'From Zero', their first record without the late vocalist Chester Bennington, arrived on November 15, following up 2017's 'One More Light'. It continued to introduce their fanbase to Armstrong and built the hype for the full From Zero World Tour, which will head to North and South America, Asia, Europe and the UK in 2025.
Their comeback with a new singer may have been polarising, but with 1,265,018 searches for their shows, it's clear the demand to see them live remains high.
He's new to the chart, and Teddy Swims is making his debut with a top 10 spot. Not too shabby!
The singer-songwriter from Conyers, Georgia released his debut album, 'I've Tried Everything But Therapy (Part 1)' in 2023, followed by a live version this January and an extended edition, 'I've Tried Everything But Therapy (Part 1.5)', in April.
He supported the record with a tour of the same name that travelled across North America, Europe and the UK this year, and with 'I've Tried Everything But Therapy (Part 2)' set to arrive on January 25, he'll be hitting the road again next year for even more dates. Progressing from Academy-sized venues to arenas, he'll return to North America, Europe and the UK, as well as playing South American festivals in March. Oh, and he's also been nominated for Best New Artist at the 2025 Grammy Awards, so it's looking like 2025 could top his outstanding 2024.
They're new to the chart, but Nevada natives Imagine Dragons have made their debut in the top 10 with just under one million searches.
The Grammy winners released their sixth studio album, 'Loom', this June and supported it with a tour that travelled across North America and to Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, Taiwan, China, Japan and Vietnam.
However, the Loom Tour is far from over, with a European leg set to take place next summer and conclude with two nights at London's Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on July 25 and 26. The shows are their only UK stops on the run, and there are still some tickets left for the first night, but they're limited, so don't come crying to us when you leave it too late and get a serious case of FOMO.
Last year saw him at number 16 on the chart, but with ongoing demand for his first stand-up tour since 2012 refusing to wane, it's no surprise he's made his way into this year's top 10.
The Bolton comedian's trek began in December 2022 and is currently set to run until June 2026. Only last week he added extra dates, so it doesn't look like he'll be slowing down any time soon.
The tour has seen him break both attendance and performance records, including his 100th show at Manchester’s AO Arena this autumn, and he's the first artist in the O2 Arena's history to have a monthly residency at the London venue, playing an impressive 45 gigs, the most by one artist. Record breaker, joke maker. He's doing it all!
In 2023, the singer-songwriter and actress from Murietta, California was at number 45 on the list, but this year she's made it into the top 10.
The three-time Grammy Award-winner hit the road hard in 2024 for the Guts World Tour, taking it across North America, Europe, the UK, Thailand, South Korea, Japan, the Philippines and Australia.
The trek supports her album of the same name, which came out in 2023,and will continue into 2025 with headline shows and festival appearances already planned in South America and Europe. She'll play her biggest headline UK show to date when topping the bill at BST Hyde Park in London on June 27. Getting tickets while you still can would be a good idea, right?
