Spain’s Benicassim Festival had to go without a performance from foul-mouthed pop princess Lilly Allen this year, with the star having to withdraw from the event’s line-up on doctor’s orders.
Metro newspaper reports that Lily’s last minute forced cancellation was due to poor health after suffering from an “undisclosed medical condition”. Supposedly feeling better in the last few days, the singer announced through her Twitter account that she would still have to pull out from the festival - for the second consecutive year - after her health deteriorated.
"My deepest apologies. I really am truly sorry. I was so excited but the doc wouldn't allow it."
With her illness forcing a string of cancellations, Lily Allen was also set for a series of promotional meetings as well as an appearance on Alan Carr’s Channel 4 talk-show ‘Chatty Man’. The singer explained, "I hate letting down my fans. I've done this four times over the past two years, sadly Spain has had a raw deal or a lucky escape depending on which way you're looking at it. Sorry Benicassim."
Lily Allen has not yet spoken about the cause of her current bad health, although rumours have been well and truly quashed that she is pregnant.
The Benicassim festival, which takes place on the coast near Valencia, came to an end on Sunday night (July 18th) having hosted some stunning performances from Gorillaz and Dizzee Rascal.
