Ok, you’ve heard not everything you read in the press is true yeah? Well it looks as though we got things wrong yesterday with Tom Jones’ management now announcing that his collaboration with The Killers is NOT happening.
After a nationwide announcement rumbled across the British music scene earlier this week, the news that welsh crooner Tom Jones was set to record with Brandon Flowers and Co spread like wild-fire. However, as we’ve seen before, it’s not unusual for rumours to spring up as news arrives describing the collaboration as simply gossip.
Confirming the denial, a representative of Tom Jones was quoted by Spinner saying: "There are always rumours, and this is one. All Tom has to do is mention that he's spoken with someone, and it gets taken to another level."
The initial announcement about the collaboration was reported after 70-year-old Tom had announced he’d spoken with The Killers, with plans then allegedly forming to “definitely” record a song with the Las Vegas group as long as they “found a song they were both happy with”.
Tom Jones is currently busy promoting the imminent release of his latest album ‘Praise and Blame’, set to hit the shops on Monday 26th July. Meanwhile Brandon Flowers, frontman of The Killers, has been focussed on his own solo album, which is set for release in September.
