Klaxons Confirm New UK Tour For November & Tickets

Fresh from their performances at both the Reading and Leeds festivals last weekend, London-based Klaxons have revealed a series of dates for a tour of the UK this November.

Despite being an indie-rock outfit at the core, Klaxons are heavily influenced by dance music, particularly that of the late 1980s and early 1990s movement. Sighting artists ranging from David Bowie to KLF as their influences, Klaxons create their unique art-rock-rave sound by mixing guitar hooks with synthesized melodies.

The London three-piece formed in 2005 from the merging talents of Jamie Reynolds, James Righton, and Simon Taylor. Emerging from the London indie scene, 2006 eventually saw the group breakthrough after their second single ‘Atlantis to Interzone’ lead to both NME and BBC Radio One sighting them as a band to watch. A huge amount of airplay and press coverage followed prompting the formation of a massive fanbase.

Releasing their first album ‘Myths of the Near Future’ in 2007, the full-length debut went on to win the Mercury Prize of the same year. After spending a lot of time on the road playing festivals and headline shows, Klaxons eventually stopped gigging long enough to write material for their second album ‘Surfing the Void’. The anticipated follow-up to ‘Myths of the Near Future’ was released only last week on August 23rd.

Having just returned from two successful shows at the Reading and Leeds festivals, Klaxons intend to continue showcasing their new material from ‘Surfing the Void’ with the announcement of a six-date UK tour.

Klaxons will play the following UK shows:

November 2010

11th Manchester Academy, Manchester
12th Norwich UEA, Norwich
13th O2 Academy, Bournemouth
16th HMV Forum / Relentless Garage, London
20th HMV Institute, Birmingham
22nd O2 Academy, Leeds

Tickets are on sale from 9am on Friday 3rd September. Tickets are priced from £16.00 with the London show priced from £18.50.
