The Rolling Stones To Tour In 2011?

It looks as though veteran rockers the Rolling Stones could be returning to the live stage next year, with drummer Charlie Watts claiming that the legendary group are likely to start things up again in 2011.

Speaking to Le Parisien, the 69-year-old is reported to have said that the band are currently in talks about a tour next year. “We're discussing it at the moment. We said that if we do something, it will be next year or the year after.”

With all four members of the Stones now well into their 60s, planning a tour is a little more difficult than it was back in the younger days of Mick, Keith, Ronnie and Charlie. The drummer, who turns 70 next year, jokingly said, "we've reached an age where you can't look too far into the future.”

Back in July reports emerged that an unknown source close to the band revealed plans that the Stones were talking about launching a massive stadium tour with concert promoter Live Nation. The planned tour, which would run into the 50th anniversary year of the band, 2012, would be one of the biggest tours the Stones have ever played, following on from their 2005 two-year 'A Bigger Bang' tour, which incidentally became the highest grossing jaunt in history.
