The Stranglers Announce 2011 UK Tour Dates & Ticket Details

1970's sneering new wave icons The Stranglers are to return to the live stage in 2011, following a series of successful festival shows and a superb Hammersmith gig back in Spring.
The Stranglers' music plagued both the album and singles charts throughout the seventies. Their rat-infested songs, enthusiasm and large doses of charisma and dark notoriety goes a long way in explaining how the The Stranglers have survived the vagaries of the music world. Now over 15 years since they burst onto the scene The Stranglers still have at their core the original members Jean-Jacques Burnel, Dave Greenfield, Jet Black and Baz Warne, however this time around vocals are shared between Warne and Burnel with Warne performing the songs originally sang by Hugh Cornwell.
Taking to the road in March 2011 'The Black and Blue tour', in reference to the battering they take while on the road, will see The Stranglers visit 17 cities promoting their new as-yet-untitled studio album. The album will be the band's first release of new material since 'Suite XVI' back in 2006.
The tour begins in Newcastle on March 4th and includes two shows in Scotland, a return to London's Hammersmith Apollo, a show in Leicester – their first stop in the city for 15 years - and following sound problems in Southampton during the band's 'Decades Apart' tour, a show down the road at Portsmouth's Pyramid Centre. The tour will conclude with a show in the band's adopted home city, Manchester, on March 26th.
