Classic seventies pomp-metallers Magnum are the latest reformed band to head back out on the road, promoting new album 'The Visitation' in April and May next year.
Magnum have come a long way since forming in 1972 to appear as a resident band in Birmingham nightclub The Rum Runner. The years have seen several changes in the band's line-up but now the core of the band, vocalist Bob Catley and guitarist/songwriter Tony Clarkin are back.
Magnum are perhaps most remembered for their success during their early years following the release of 1982 album 'Chase The Dragon' which spawned several hits including 'Soldier Of The Line', 'Sacred Hour' and 'The Spirit'. All songs which have remained on the band's live set list to this day. They hit the big-time three years later with Gold Certified album 'On A Storyteller's Night' which featured the classic track 'Just Like An Arrow'.
As with all good things though, Magnum came to an end in 1995, when guitarist Tony Clarkin announced the band were to split. Magnum eventually reformed in 2001 and their most recent album 'Into The Valley of the Moonking' was released in June last year.
Magnum will return to the live stage again throughout April and May next year to promote their forthcoming new album 'The Visitation', which follows the band's cross-career collection box set 'The Gathering'.
