Dan Le Sac vs. Scroobius Pip (Feat. Kid A) - Cauliflower (Single Review)

Reaching the end of a busy summer of festivals, Brit-hop duo Dan vs. Pip are back with the third single to be taken from their recent album ‘The Logic of Chance’. ‘Cauliflower’ is a collaboration with American female solo artist Kid A, who provides the chorus to this love song of sorts.
On this occasion, Dan and Pip have defied their usual mix of rap beats and social commentary and traded it in for a more musically-orientated electronic dance track, over which Scroobius Pip vocalises a love of music with some brief rhymes.
Kid A’s inclusion adds an unusual melodiousness to the pair’s previous use of thought-provoking verse. As well as being tremendously tuneful in itself, her chorus compliments Le Sac’s infectious beat to spectacular effect and really brings out the overall character of the music.
Although fans of Sac vs. Pip may initially stick their noses up at this rare departure from the duo’s regular style, there’s no denying the blend of harmony and catchy beats is an impressive offering, making this one of the stand-out tracks from ‘The Logic of Chance’.
The single also includes a hard Prodigy-style dance remix from Does It Offend You, Yeah? and some more chilled-out efforts by Telepathe, Mark E and PRDCTV.
‘Cauliflower’ is released on Monday 11th October.
