New York-based singer and guitarist Marnie Stern will release her self-titled third album on 18th October before heading out on a tour of the UK in November. The tour kicks off on 18th November in Nottingham and ends with two dates in London.
The new album, which follows its critically-acclaimed predecessors ‘In Advance of the Broken Arm’ and ‘This Is It and I Am It and You Are It and So Is That and He Is It and She Is It and It Is It and That Is That’, is already starting to receive excellent reviews in the press.
Stern has been hailed for her guitar playing, which focuses on a technical style involving finger-tapping. In 2008, Venus Zine named her as one of the Greatest Female Guitarists of All Time.
‘Marnie Stern’ is described as a “compendium of life stories both bitter and sweet. An album which has a deep ingrained rock intelligence yet is brimming with vigor, vitality and fun and is clearly her strongest collection of songs to date.”
