Finnish Metallers Children Of Bodom have announced they are to bring their brand of exciting and inventive metal to the UK next year, confirming a string of UK shows for April 2011.
Prooving that nu-metal doesnt have to shirk the power chords, Children Of Bodom will take no prisoners on their new six-date UK tour which includes shows in Glasgow, Birmingham and London. Titled 'The Ugly World Tour 2011', Children Of Bodom will be unleashing their crunching guitar licks in support of their as-yet-untitled seventh studio album. Currently in production with help from former Slayer and Monster Magnet producer Matt Hyde, the new album is expected to appear in early 2011.
Speaking about the material for the forthcoming new album, band lead guitarist Alexi "WildChild" Laiho told Revolver. "It's maybe a little more melodic than 'Blooddrunk' was. It's maybe more guitar riff-oriented, really '80s guitar and stuff like that." The recording sessions have produced nine original songs and one cover. Laiho spoke about the cover song saying its "gonna be fucking funny as shit. I don't think it's something anybody would necessarily want to cover — not a metal band, anyway."
Other tracks expected to feature on Children Of Bodom's new album are 'Pussyfoot Miss Suicide' and 'Ugly'.
The UK leg of 'The Ugly World Tour' kicks off in Norwich on April 1st and Children Of Bodom will then roll through Manchester, Glasgow, Nottingham and Birmingham before closing the tour at London's HMV Forum on April 9th. Support on all of the UK shows comes from Amon Amarth.
