Black Country Communion, the critically acclaimed Anglo/American rock supergroup comprising vocalist/bassist Glenn Hughes (Deep Purple, Trapeze, Black Sabbath), award-winning blues rock guitarist Joe Bonamassa, drummer Jason Bonham (Led Zeppelin, Foreigner) and keyboardist Derek Sherinian (Dream Theater, Billy Idol), are preparing for two rare debut UK gigs in December.
The band will play their first concert in the heart of the Black Country when they hit the stage in front of 3,000 people at the legendary Wolverhampton Civic Hall on Wednesday 29th December. The following evening the band will play London’s o2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire on Thursday 30th December.
BCC’s album debuted at #5 in the Official UK Midweek Album Chart, and upon the first week of release scored a hat-trick by charting #13 in the Official UK Album Chart, #1 in the Official UK Rock Album Chart, and #2 in the Official UK Independent Album Chart. Check out the band's album track 'One Last Soul' below.
Black Country Communion is the brainchild of producer Kevin Shirley (Black Crowes, Aerosmith, Led Zeppelin). Their debut album was produced and mixed by Shirley, and mastered by Bob Ludwig.
Black Country Communion was originally formed when Kevin Shirley saw Glenn Hughes and Joe Bonamassa join forces on stage in Los Angeles in November 2009 for an explosive performance at Guitar Center’s King of the Blues event. Shirley recruited powerhouse drummer Jason Bonham (Led Zeppelin, Foreigner) and keyboardist Derek Sherinian (Dream Theatre, Billy Idol, Alice Cooper).
The band’s name is derived from the industrial area in the British Midlands where both Hughes and Bonham were born and raised. The debut album was recorded at Shangri-La Studios in early 2010.
Black Country Communion have announced two rare debut UK shows later this month:
December 2010
29th Civic Hall, Wolverhampton
30th O2 Shepherds Bush Empire, London
